Bid Summary
The Bid Summary Screen is the default screen displayed when you click on the second tab. It displays a table of the bid lines that you have created.
The second column in the table displays the type of mortgage (ie First Time Buyer, Remortgage etc), the third column shows the price band, the fourth shows the range of prices you are offering for that type of lead, the fifth shows the number of leads of that type already sent to you, and the sixth shows the Maximum price you have set up for that mortgage type.
The Last column will also tell you if you are being outbid on that particular line by a competitor. This column is only updated once every hour so if you have changed your bids recently it could be out of date. Clicking view next to the bid line will give you the most up to date infomation on whether you have been outbid in a particular area.
You can of use the selection box in column 1 to edit or delete any of your existing bids at this level . The drop down box filters the table to show less entries, and can be sorted by clicking on the column headers.
Bid Details
The "Bid Details" screen is accessed by clicking "View" in the firstl column of any "Bid Line" in the table on the "Bid Summary" screen. The screen shows precisely what price you are bidding for any particular postcode for a given mortgage type and price band, and what your bid ranking is with that price (ie whether you are top bid or 3rd place etc).
Using the "Bid Price" field at the top of the screen you can set a bid price manually for all of the postcodes in that line, or just the selected ones, and likewise you can make selected postcodes jump to top bidder prices, or delete that postcode from that bid line.
You should enter a whole number in the Bid Price field without any curency prefix (ie "15" or "16" NOT 1.00 or 2.45).
You can additionally add extra postcodes from other regions to the bid line by clicking on "Change Bid Postcodes" which is displayed on the tab menu. This will allow you to amend the postcodes for current bid lines.
You can use the drop down fields on the Bid Detail screen to filter the data that is shown in the table to just postcodes for a region or just those where you are being outbid. For a nationwide broker this table can be very long.
Top Bids
The "Top Bids" screen is accessed from the second tab in the application "My Bids". The top bids page is spit into 2 sections. The top section shows a chart displaying the top bid prices in the system. This chart only shows the highest bid in the system from any post code area. You can filter down to region and mortgage type for a more accurate representation of what is going on in your region.
If you want to see at a glance what is happening for an individual postcode area the second section on that page allows you to selct a mortgage type and display a table with all the current top bids in the system. This table is useful for finding where there may be leads going at a competitive price.
Bid Settings
The Bid Settings Screen is accessed from the second tab in the application "My Bids". It displays settings that affect how the system should process leads that you have won the bidding for.
No Leads: - This determines whether or not you wish to restrict the number of leads you receive to a daily budget or not. There are two options, 1) Unlimited where you continue to receive leads until your money runs out, and 2) Limited leads where you specify either a maximum number of leads per day or a maximum spend per day.
If you select Unlimited leads (which is the default) the screen will refresh and ask only for an Interface type and email address; if you select "Limited" two additional fields appear and either one or the other (but not both) must be filled. If the account is set to limited the system will stop assigning leads when either condition is met.
The email address requested in the final field, is the email address to which new mortgage leads should also be posted when a lead is won by you. By default this is the same as the information entered on the registration screen.
The only interface type currently available is email. Mortgage leads are additionally available via SMS. In order to receive leads via SMS you must enter the number and click "On" and then click "Save".
Auto Bidder
Auto Bidder is a feature of Leadbay that automatically increases your bids in order to keep you on top of your competitors. By default it is turned off. You can check whether or not it is turned on by checking the account summary screen or the Auto Bidder Settings screen. Auto bidder is located under "Bid Settings" on the second tab.
Auto Bidder automatically increases your bid by £1 everytime you are outbid by a competitor in your chosen area. To limit unneccessary price escalation, autobidder can only be set to run twice in a single day. You must therefore tell AutoBidder when you wish it to run by checking two of the checkboxes next to the timeslots on the screen.
You can of course change your bid price manually at any time and you may find that this is a more effective way of staying on top in very competitive areas.
Outbid Notification
The Outbid Notification Agent is a background process that runs on the Leadbay server and sends emails to users that are being outbid by competitors in selected areas.
By default it is active and is set to run twice a day at 9:00am and 2:00pm. The settings that control it can be found under "Bid Settings" on the second tab. Alternatively it can be accessed via a message on the account summary screen.
To view your settings click here. Unlike AutoBidder you can select as many checkboxes as you wish to control when the Outbid notification agent runs.
Bid Creation
In order to create new bids you should click on "Create Bid" in the tab menu on the "My Bids Summary" screen. This brings up first the Postcode Manager and then secondly the "Bid Creation" screen.
In order to create a bid you must first select the postcode areas that you wish the bid to apply for. The Postcode Manager will be prepopulated with your default list of global postcodes. You can add or remove postcodes to this selection by expanding the relevant postcode region and checking the relevant tick boxes.
When you are happy with your Postcode selection you must click the "Save" button before clicking the "Step 2 - Create bids link".This now takes you to the "Bid Creation" screen.
Leadbay Help - Bid Creation (Step 2)
The "Bid Creation" screen is used to generate or update "Bid Lines". You must select a mortgage type or category to create (if you wish to bid for more than one area you must come back and start this process again) and a price range for that mortgage type. The system will generate "bid lines" for every 25k band within that price range.
The Bid Price field contains the price you currently wish to bid for leads in that category and price band and should be entered as a whole integer (ie "10" not "10.50").
The Max Bid Price field is used by the "AutoBidder" process and places a limit on the maximimum price the system automatically bids if autobidder is turned on - (By default it is not active).
If you are creating new bid lines you should click on the button marked "Create Bids", if you are updating existing bid lines with new prices/postcodes then you should mark the checkbox "Overwrite Existing Bids" and click the "Update Bids" button.
The new bid lines will appear on the "Bids Summary" screen.
Postcode Manager
In Leadbay bids relate to specific postcodes as well as mortgage types and price bands. In order to create new bids you therefore need to select the postcodes that you wish to bid for. (You can bid different prices for different postcodes).
Postcode Manager groups postcodes by area. Clicking on the "+" symbol next to the region name expands the section to show a list of postcode checkboxes. Each section has a regional map to show you which other postcodes may be of interest.
You can select all the postcodes in a given area by clicking on the "Select All" link in that area. You can chose postcodes from multiple regions by expanding a new selection and additionally ticking checkboxes in that section.
When you are happy with your Postcode selection you must click the "Save" button before clicking the "Step 2 - Create bids link".This now takes you to the "Bid Creation" screen.
My Leads section
When your bids are successful and leads are sent to your email account, these same leads also appear in the “My Leads” section of Leadbay.
You can filter the leads that display here by mortgage type and between date ranges or you can search by the surname or the postcode of a lead.
There may be more than one page of results, if so Next & Previous controls appear at the bottom of the table.
The leads may also be sorted by the underlined fields in the header (for example by surname or mortgage size).
The main “View Leads” screen (defaulted when you enter “My Leads” section) has a summary that includes a pull-down to view facility so that all the contact numbers may be seen from this one page. There is also a field that may be used if you have a number of brokers working on this same account so that you can assign individual leads to certain brokers in your organisation. This is simple tracking functionality intended for certain types of broker organisations and its use is optional.
This page also has a status field, an invalid lead indicator and a date time stamp when the lead arrived.
Click on the lead to view the lead in more detail and to set the status of the lead or indicate to us that you wish to register the lead as invalid. The status field is primarily to feedback information to us that will help us in the ongoing lead quality improvement process as we understand that you most likely have your own systems for tracking and following up on leads.
From the main “View Leads” screen you can also click on the section “My Lead Totals” which summarises the number of leads delivered to you by mortgage type, and highlights totals of your invalid leads. It also gives you a summary of your total costs and the average lead costs by this category. This report can be filtered by date selections. |
